Pair a till device

Sign a team member in on their own phone or the till's tablet with a pairing QR, so they can redeem coupons.

Your staff don't need an email address or a password to use Kiwiback. You show a pairing QR on your phone, they scan it on their device, and they're signed in.

A team member added as an Operator gets a simple screen that only redeems coupons. A Manager gets the full app for your location.

Before you start

Add the person to your team first. See Add someone to your team.

Install Kiwiback on the device they'll use: their own phone, or the phone or tablet you keep at the till.

Pair the device

On your phone:

1. Go to Settings and tap Team.
2. Tap the person's name.
3. Tap Show pairing QR.

On their device:

1. Open Kiwiback. If you see the welcome screens, tap I already have an account.
2. Tap On a team? Sign in with a QR code.
3. Allow the camera, then point it at the pairing QR on your phone.

That's it. An operator lands on the redeem screen, ready for the first coupon. See Redeem a coupon.

The code expired

A pairing QR only works for a few minutes, and only once. The screen counts down the time left. If it runs out, or you showed it to the wrong person, tap New code: the old one stops working straight away.

If their device says "This QR code has expired" or "has already been used", show them a new code.

Does it stay signed in?

Yes. The device stays signed in between shifts, even if the app is closed, so nobody has to sign in again at every table.

How do I sign a device out?

On the device, tap the person's name on the redeem screen to open their profile, then tap Sign out. To sign back in, they'll need you to pair the device again.

To stop someone using Kiwiback altogether, remove them from your team: their session ends straight away.

Can I use one device for the whole team?

Yes, but every coupon redeemed on it is recorded under the name of the person it was paired for. To see who served which guest, give each person their own pairing.
